B. MINUTES
Minutes of the December 2, 1996 meeting were approved.

C. POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Secretary Rizzo reported that pursuant to Government Code 54954.2 the
agenda for this meeting was posted on the City Hall Kiosk on January
2, 1997.

II. NEW BUSINESS
Review of the Sar~tog~ $¢hoq! District Facility Needs Assessment Study
A) Superintendent Gardiner could not attend this meeting, will reschedule
at a later date.
Review of the City Cguncil Meetinq (1/6/97) and discussion of proposed
changes to the budget due to the repeal of the Utility Users Tax.
B) Secretary Rizzo reviewed for the Commission, the highlights of the
Town Hall Meeting of 1/6/97. The Commission discussed their proposed
request from Council to investigate and report back to Council with
budget scenarios that reflect 20% to 40% reduction in Recreation
Department and Park Maintenance Divisions budgets. Secretary Rizzo
distributed materials, schedules and forms to assist the Commission
with the process.
Staff presented a general overview of budget programs that are funded
through the General Fund Activity. The Commission agreed to meet next
Tuesday, January 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the Adult Day Care Center.
