Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, the agenda was properly posted on 9/14/99.
W. Approval of Minutes of August 25, 1999 ..
Commissioner Gipstein moved to approve the minutes of August 25, 1999.
Commissioner Foscato seconded the motion and it passed. (6/0).
V. New Business _
a. "A Shared Treasure - Understanding Our Library Funding" Presented by: Julie Famsworth, Deputy County Librarian.
Ms._Famsworth gave and overview of the. Santa Clara County Library System's Funding. See
handout.

The Santa Clara County Library System ranked the second best in its category by the American
Library Journal.... -

Duncan Wright, an Intern from Scotland, is working at the library.

· Financial status appears favorable.
- Saratoga Library Foundation received a $5,000 grant to fund children's programs and
materials at the library from the Wells Fargo Foundation
.......... · The Saratoga News, October 6th edition, will include a four-page supplement about the
library. ......
· Volunteers are needed for the library awareness program to assist with mailers and to engage
JCitizens at the upcoming Dance and Parade.
