There was no discussion of the minutes.
I. Study Session - Saratoga's Historical Eras and Character
A quorum was not present until 4:05 p.m. However, it was deter-
mined that the Commission would invite guest speakers after it had
done its initial work in examining and categorizing Saratoga's
historical character.
II. Priorities for Historic Resource Designation
The Commission decided to focus its efforts on the Village area
where a concentration of historical structures exist. A walk and
photography session was scheduled for Thursday, July 22nd at 10 a.m.
beginning at the Foothill Club. The area to be explored will
include both sides of Big Basin Way, the Park Plaue and Oak Place
area, and the Oak Street and Aloha Street area.
III. Miscellaneous
Commissioner Landsness handed out and briefly described brochures
and other written information on Federal funding sources, tax
breaks and applications for the preservation of historic structures.
It was decided that the next regular meeting would be on August
5, 1982 at 3:30 p.m. The Commission also directed Staff to ask
the Planning Commission if any of its members wanted to serve on
the Heritage Preservation Commission on a temporary basis until
the City Council appointed someone permanently to the Commission.
IV.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
