No minutes had been prepared.
I. OLD BUSINESS
A. Update on House Tour
Chairman Landshess stated that about 700 tickets for the house tour
had been sold. The proceeds would be split evenly between the
Commission and the History Center. Discussion about the food
contributions from the restaurant end food merchants then followed.
Chairman LandsheSS indicated she was working on the information
bookie% for the %our and things seemed %o be coming together.
The following items were then discussed: a sign for Central Park, use
of the tour proceeds and earmarking of these funds, publication of the
survey, plaques, and the addition of Commissioner Kvamme's house to
the City survey.
Chairman Landsnasa then gave a brief rundown of the activities of the
Uillage Committee. She indicated that less restrictive parking would
help. Points of view were loosening up. Discussion on difficulties
the merchants had with the City, diversity of views, frustration and
the need for design guidelines then followed, The Committee was
trying to tie together old solutions and implement them.
B. HP-S, ~pplicaiion for Heritage R~mource Designation - Hakone Park.
Chairman Landsnasa indicated that this application would not be
formally presented to %he City Council until the Hakone Foundation was
formed and new plans for the garden developed. This application could
be presented tatar when it would be better received. The feeling of
the Commission was that Hakone would be preserved since it was to
continue in City ownership,
II. NEW~ BUSINESS
HP-?, 8pplication for Heritage Resource Designation - Saratoga
Historical Museum
The 0oMmision discussed the comments prepared by Commissioner Heid for
this application and determined that they were appropriate. The
COMMiSsion also determined that criteria m, c, and e of the ordinance
should be incorporated into the findings which would be reviewed at
the next meeting.

6. Correction to City Survey
$31 - This structure has been greatly changed. This is one of Mr,
Jarboe's homes (perhaps the second or third>, Commissioner Voester
indicated that the present owners have a lot of information but she
had not been able to contact them. Commisszoner Hsid stated he would
look for an original picture of the house.
Discussion then followed on the letters to be prepared for absentee
owners of Saratoga property which should include a request for
information even if the owner does not want %0 designate the property.
$32 & 33 - J. Kahle's middle initial should be R. Commissioner
Landshess had additional information on these items. The house
closest to Brookwood Lane does not mppear to be a Julia Morgan design.
This house was %he F. B. Willard home for Many years. It was the
conaensus of %he Commission that ~32 should be called the F. B.
Willard House. He was the head of the City of Paris in San Francisco.
Number ~3 is located on a ~ecluded knoll above Saratoga Creek north of
the Village. 8 very large heritage oak tree, perhaps one of the
largest in the County, i~ located on the site. Number 33 was built in
the California CraCtsman style.
Discussion then foliowed on u~ing styles rather than eras to ~dentify
the structures in the survey,
