B. Heritage Home TQvr; the home tour will be held on April 20, 1986.
The City has calenderized this date, and no other function will be
held on this day. Information regarding the Home Tour is being
directed to the merchants of Saratoga, the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce,
and all members of the Saratoga Village Association.
The Heritage Preservation Commission is trying to add Seven Oaks
to the tour; the 1912 Villa Deodora House has been confirmed as
one of the homes on the tour.
Other homes are still needed for inclusion in the 1986 tour; homes
to be viewed are trying to be contained on the southside of
Saratoga-Los Gatos Road in order to avoid the dangerous traffic.
It was agreed during further discussion of the Home Tour that the
major purpose of the tour is to show the process of preservation and
not just present showcme-type homes. However, the Commission wishes
to show a broad range of homes from start to finish; to stress
restoration and to demonstrate the many possibilities available in the
renovated structure.
It was further discussed that a walking tour could possibly lead
from Villa Deodora to the Cemetary and past other homes whcih would
point out the restoration process and continue on to the various
businesses in the Village which would present past and present uses
of structures.
Jean Kvamme will talk to John Schwartz about the possibility of
using the VITA group to participate and perform during the tour.

to the great difficulties which arise while trying to save a
historic structure for original use or adaptive re-use.
III. New Business
A. The WarnerHutton House
This house is a one-story Queen Anne Cottage, 1896. The Commimioners
continued a historical discussion of the house and its importance
to Saratoga. The house was declared eligible for listing on the
National Register on June 10, 1985.
Sharon has contacted Dan Trinidad (Parks'and Recreation) in order to
gather support and assistance regarding the Hutton House. There seems
to be a lot of interest and support in the moving and re-use of the
house as city-offices. City Officials seem to support the plan.
Sharon circulated a Draft Memorandum for all Commissioners to read
and discuss regarding the Hutton House.
B. Gypsy Fill Farm
It was decided that the Heritage Preservation Commission should take
pictures of the farmhouse, stable/tack house before. demolition
occurs. A new housing tract will be built soon on this historic
