Koepernik, Voester, Chair Landshess 8bsent: Commission Cameron MINUTES OF Gt4/SG CommissionBr Heid corrected the information on the residence at the Brian Kelly Cevelopment. The home uas built in the early lg38a and extensively remodeled in the early 1940s. M/S UOESTER/KOEPERNIK to approve minutes as amended. Carried 4/0, OLO BUSINESS Updating survey 1. Approval of guidelines. The Commission discussed how to determine the age of a structure. They decided thai would involve talking with local residents, county assessor, owner of the property, Historical Foundation, and examining the style of the home. The home Must be S0 years or older to be included in the suvey. h~signments of areas to review. The Commi~sion felt that it was premature to assiQn areas to each Commissioner since there were other priorities. Complete review of the current survey information for accuracy (begin ~ith ~31> 8dd new information partially completed per files with OoMmissloner Voester, 3. Survey new sites. 4. Commissioner Uoester reviewed a list of projects that were incomplete and Chairperson LandsheSS Made assignmen%5 and comments as follows: t. Re~ult~ of House Tour - Landsnesa will Make a report at the next ~eeting. 2. Contact West Valley College for students to survey City for historic resources - delay until priority list is completed, Status of Fire Bell - staff to check with City Attorney on progress of contract between City and Volunteer Fire Department regarding ownership responsibilities, costs, Report a% next Meeting (per City Council S/7/8B) Sign for Central Park Orchard - LendsheSS will talk to Roy Swanson, Superintendent of Parks, and report at next ~eeting. S. Celifornia History Center- Landshess will call and request breakdown and check. She will report to the next meeting. 6. 1B8B-1987 Budget - Staff to present at next Meeting. 7. Furlure ngenda item~ - call staff in advance so that %hey can be added. 8. Miscellaneous reports and discussion Commissioner Voester reported that the Federated Church Historian is new and in charge of restoring %he chapel. Commission Voester was impressed with her enthusiamm. 2. Commissioner Voes~er suggested that the Commission drive through Mont~ista on Stevens Creek Blvd. to see the new office buildings with historic architecture which creates an atmosphere that Saratoga wants. ~, Commissioner Koepernik presented a update on the plaques. La Haye Bronze, Inc. requires half the ~oney and will send the Commission a rubbing before the cesting is done. The Commission reviewed and made some modifications to the design of the proposed plaques. It was M/S HEIB/VOESTER to resubmit the design to La Have Bronze, Inc. requesting any change in price.
