HERITAGE PRE~ERUATION COMMISSION
MINUTES
DATE: Wednesday, August, 8, t986 - 3:00 P.M.

I. ROUTINE ORBAN!Z6T!O~
Introduction of new Commissioners and staff.
Because Chair Lendsnes5 wes going to be late, the meeting
was called to order by B. Voester at ~:0S P.M. Planning
Director Hsie stated that the new Commissioners had not
been sworn in yet and that both were on vacation. He
introduced Associate Planner V, Young who would be
staffing the Commission from now on.

Present: Commissioners Cameron, Heid (3:~0), Koepernik,
Voester, Chair Landshess (3:30)
Staff: Hsia, Young
Approval of minutes of July 2, 1986.
Minutes are amended as follows:
Pg. 2 - ~31 - Correct spelling of Mr. Jarbo's name to
Jerboa. Add "s" to home.
t32 - Change "Mr." to "the"
Pg. 3 - ~34 - Change address to read 14510-14540 Big
Basin Way. Add "portion of the" to last sentence in
paragraph.
M/S OAMERON/KOEPERNIK to approve minutes as amended. Oarried
~-0.
II. OLO BUSINESS
The Commission decided to carry discussion on this item to
t~e end of the meeting.
IIt. NEW BUSINESS
The following items of new business were brought up by
Commissioners:
- R. Cameron brought up the conference on preserving
historic districts to be held in Santa Clara on September
2G-27, Planning Director Hsia stated that Commissioners
interested in attending should contact U. Young for
registration,
-B, Voester stated the check had arrived for the house tour.
- 8. Voester asked about the status of the fire bell. Y.
Hsia responded that the City Attorney was working on the
wording of the agreememt,
- 8, Voester asked about the status of 28??8 Wildwood Way,
~20 on the inventory, She thought it had been changed into
four condos.
- B, Voester discussed the Miljevich Ranch Buildings and
recent Planning Commission action on this property. She was
concerned about the possible significance of the structures.
Discussion of jotn~ meeting with Planning Commission on

I. Bed and 8reakfamt Ordinance.
The Commission discussed possible approaches to
take with an ordinance. R. Cameron mentioned
articles in the Califormia Planner magazine, Staff
will research other ordinance~ and forward to
Commission for review prior to next Meeting,
2. Historic Element in the Zoning Ordinance.
The Commission discussed the possibility of adding
a preservation review process in~o the Zoning
Ordinance for structures listed on the inventory.
They would like ~o have more review over what
happens to those structures.
IV. H~/PO O!SCUSSION
A. Approval of Resolutions of Appreciation.
few Minor corrections were made to resolutions.
H/S HEID/VOESTER to approve and forward to City Council for
scheduling on their September I? agenda if possible.
B. Letter to Homeowners.
This item was carried over to the next meeting.
C. County Historical Transit Map.
B. Voester volunteered to serve as liaison for this
project. There was discussion on which properties
should be included.
V. 6DJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at S:IS P.M. The next ~eeting will
be held on Wednesday. September 3. t98G at 3:88 P,M. at the
Saratoga Community Library.
