HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES

ROUTINE ORGANIZATION
A. Roll Call
Present: Ansnes, Davis, Koepernik, Mitchell, Peck, Sabin
Absent: Cameron
Staff: Adar
Guest: Larry Fine
B. Approval of Minutes of 6/20/90
M/S Sabin/Peck to approve the minutes of 6/20/90.
Motion passed unanimously.
C. Posting the Agenda
Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, the agenda was posted at
City Hall on 6/15/90.
D. Oral and Written Communications
Commissioner Sabin reported to the Commission that in the last
Rotary Club meeting the club members considered volunteering
for the exterior painting project of Warner Hutton house. The
Club will be considering the work if the City provides the
materials. Sabin also mentioned that the previous owner of
the house offered to replace the aluminum windows with wood
windows.
The Commission discussed the possibility of including the
House in the National Register of Historic Places. The
restoration of the house should be done in coordination with
the State Heritage Preservation Office. Staff was directed
to check the required procedure with SHPO.
Commissioner Koepernik reported to the Commission about the
last Heritage Tree Committee. Three trees were reviewed by
the Committee members as an exercise testing the evaluation
form prepared by the Committee. The Committee requested the
list of trees which are included on the Heritage resources
list. Staff will send a copy of the list to Bob Rizzo the
Parks and Recreation superintendent.
Chair Ansnes reminded the Commissioners that they are all
invited to the recognition dinner which will be held by the
Council on September 25.
II. OLD BUSINESS
A. CLG Grant
The Commission concurred with staff suggestion and directed
staff to determine what responsibilities remain to be
completed by the Commission. Staff will prepare a memorandum
with a list for each Commissioner.
III. NEW BUSINESS
A. Designation of Saratoga Avenue
The Commission reviewed the report to the Planning Commission
which was prepared by staff. The HP Commission directed staff
to submit the report to the Planning Commission with minor
modification, and schedule the application to the next
available public hearing.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
