HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES

I. ROUTINE ORGANIZATION
A. Roll Call
Present: Peck, Peepari, Davis, Fine, Sabin, Ansnes
Absent: Koepernik
Staff: Secretary White, Planner Riggs
Guests: Mr. Maurer, Mr. Helbush
B. Approval of Minutes of 10/14/92
The minutes of 10/14/92 were approved unanimously. M/S Ansnes/Fine
C. Posting the Agenda
Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, the agenda was posted at City
Hall on 11/6/92.
D. Oral and Written Communications
A letter was reviewed by the Commission regarding the proposed
subdivision at 14350 Douglass Avenue. The author of the letter, Mr.
Maurer, was in attendance and made a presentation describing the
history of the site, including information about the architect of
the house, Gardner Daily. He asked that the Commission consider
placing the site on the Heritage Resource Inventory.
Mr. Helbush, the current tenant of the site, added personal
information about the house during his years living there. He
reiterated Mr. Maurer's sentiments regarding the house and site.
It was agreed that more information needed to be submitted
concerning the house and site, preferrably in the format of the
Resource Inventory Information Sheets. A visit to the site was
suggested and would be coordinated by staff at the earliest
convenience of the residents. A final determination would be made
as to whether to place this site on the Inventory after all
available information had been reviewed.
II. OLD BUSINESS
1. Review of the Heritage Preservation Incentive Program
The Commission reviewed a memo prepared by the previous Secretary
Adar regarding the Incentive program. A discussion ensued regarding
the general aspects of the program. It was decided that the
program was as the Commission wanted it and staff was to prepare a
final memo to the City Council to be reviewed at the next meeting.
III. NEW BUSINESS
1. Review of revised 1992-93 budget for the Heritage
Preservation Commission
The revised budget was reviewed, noted and filed.
2. Discussion of Work Program items for 1993
Staff requested that the Commission begin to submit new work
program items for 1993 in order to create a list of items for
review by the Commission.

None.
V. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned to December 8, 1992 at 9 a.m.
