Roll Call Present: Ansnes, Davis, Dutro, Fine, Koepernik, Peck, Peepari ~.bsent: None Staff: Beoretsz7 White, Public Works Director Pertin Guest: Jim Hemmann, Architect B. Approval of Minutes of 7/12/94 and 7/25/94 Both sets of minutes were unanimously approved as submitted, M/S Fine/Dutro. C. Posting the Agenda Pursuant to Government Code Section 94954.2 the agenda was posted on Friday, August 5. D. Oral and Written Communications Staff submitted two letters as informational items: 1. A letter from R and Z Development asking the Commission to videotape the property located at 14350 Douglas Lane. The Commission had requested this permission as part of the Subdivision and Design Review process for the property. Frank Dutro indicated that he was available to do the videotape and asked staff to make an appointment with the developer. 2. A letter from Sandra Elder at the State Historic Preservation Office advertising a CLG meeting being held in Sacramento in late October. II. OLD BUSINESS 1. Vidanage, Tract ~8639, 12585 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Request for reconsideration of a proposed new street name. The Commission discussed the request for reconsideration of "Spring Moon Court" as a new street name. A motion to approve the name failed for lack of a second. a motion carried unanimously supporting the applicant's second choice of ,'Spring Blossom Court", M/S Fine/Ansnes. 2. Commission Reports on possible Heritage Lan~ .candidates (continued from July 12). commissioner Peck reported on Marion avenue and recommended that this street not be considered as a Heritage Lane. III. NEW BUSINESS 1. Review of Phase II improvements to Warner Hutton House Landscape Plan. After a presentation by Jim Hemmann regarding the proposed Phase Two improvements the Commission expressed unanimous support for the plan with the following comments/suggestions: 1. Need security lighting at the rear of the house. 2. Need established schedule to control the periods when the ornamental lighting is on to preserve the quality of darkness in the neighborhood. 3. Need to ensure lighting will be adequate on pathways for safety purposes. 4. Suggested that a conventional light be added at the rear door that could be controlled independently from the ornamental lighting. 5. Endorsed Jim Hemmann's suggestion that a "mock up', be requested from the lighting contractor to evaluate the quality and intensity of the lighting plan prior to actual installation. 6. Suggested that electrical outlets be conveniently distributed throughout the property for special events, etc. IV. ITEMS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION Commissioner Fine reported that he was involved in the formation of a committee to reduce the speed of automobiles on the Heritage Lane portion of Saratoga avenue.
