HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-13-1994 HPC Minutes CITY OF SARATOGA HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES DATE: Tuesday, December 13, 1994, 9 a.m. : , PLACE: Warner Hutton House TYPE: Regular Meeting* *Immediately following the regular meeting, the Commission will embark upon a field trip to visit potential Heritage Lane candidates throughout the City. The field trip will end at noon. By consensus of the Commission, the field trip was postponed. I. ROUTINE ORGANIZATION A. Roll Call Present: Ansnes, Davis, Dutro, Koepernik, Peck, Peepari Absent: Fine Staff: Secretary White B. Approval of Minutes of 11/8/94 The minutes were unanimously approved as submitted. M/S Koepernik/Dutro. C. Posting the Agenda Pursuant to Government Code Section 94954.2, the agenda was posted on Friday, December 9. D. Oral and Written Communications II. OLD BUSINESS 1. DR-93-032, V-93-020, Heath, 14300 Saratoga Avenue (continued from November 8}. After a review of the City Arborist's report, the Commission made the following recommendations to be forwarded to the Planning Co,~ission, M/S Davis/Koepernik: 1. The large fir tree should remain. 2. A breezeway attachment is acceptable. 3. A two story addition is preferable for architectural consistency purposes. III. NEW BUSINESS 1. AR-94-021, Bonnet, 20900 Big Basin Way. Review of a proposed addition to the McClay Cottage which is listed on the Heritage Resource Inventory. The addition to the existing house was unanimously approved as submitted. M/S Koepernik/Peck. 2. DR-94-051 & 055, Bean, 20041 and 20010 Heritage Oak. Review of two proposed new homes adjacent to the Heritage Lane portion of Saratoga Avenue. After review and discussion, the proposal was unanimously approved as submitted. M/S Koepernik/Peep&ri. IV. ITEMS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION The recently created Economic Development Committee was discussed. It was suggested that the HPC should be involved in the Committee process with the following issues in mind= 1. Bed and Breakfast establishments in the Village. 2. General appearance and upkeep of buildings in the Village. V. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned to 9 a.m. on tuesday, January 10. hpcmdec
