Approval of minutes dated ! 2/19/95 The minutes were unanimously approved as submitted, !vt/S Fine/Dutro. C. Posting of the Agenda Pursuant to Govemment Code Section 94954.2, the agenda was posted on Friday, January 5. D. Oral and Written Communications staff updated the Commission on the status of the Williamson Act cancellation, the Draft Environmental Impact Report and the associated development proposal for the Nelson Gardens property. !1. Old Business A. Continuing discussion of the Cafifomia Quality Act, the Mills Act and other Heritage Preservation concepts and issues. Staff updated the Commission on recent discussions with the legal staff of the State Historic Preservation Office. The Commission agreed that a procedure for applying CEQA should be drafted, adopted and sent to the City Council and Planning Commission for reference. Staff also indicated that certain aspec~ of this discussion were the purview of the City Arromey. Staff was directed to continue to study the matter and to report back in February of any new information. !il. New Business A. Discussion of Heritage Informational Pamphlet and CLG Grant Process. !£ was decided to wak on applying for a CLG grant and developing a pamphlet until after the Planning Commission and City Council had prioritized the next Community Development Work Program. B. Report on Heritage Book Sales. Staff reported that approximately 260 books remained in inventory and that the current balance in the Preservation Trust Fund was $5385.80. IV. Items Initiated by the Commission 1. Staff indicated that nominations for the new Chair should be included in the next agenda. 2. Commission Peck discussed the former blacksmith shop on Big Basin was which currently houses the "La Dolce Vita" restaurant and the "Village Bistro". Commissioner Peck wondered if this could be identified as a Heritage Resource for the purpose of identifying the buildings building historical significance with a plaque or marker. 3. Chair Peepari and the Commission discussed the consecutive absences of Commissioner Cuder. V. Adjoumment hpcmjan
