Type: Regular Meeting
I. Routine Organization
A. Roll Call
Present: Dutro, Fine, Koepemik,Peck, Peepari, Wyman
Absent: King
Staff: Secretary White
Guest: Mr. Harkey and Soloman
B. Approval of minutes dated 5/13/97.
The minutes were approved as submitted, M/S Dutro/Fine, 6-0.
C. Posting of the Agenda
Pursuant to Government Code Section 94954.2 the Agenda was posted on Friday, June 6.
D. Written Communications
None.
E. Oral Communications (This portion of the meeting is reserved for those persons desiring to
address the Commission on any matter not on the agenda)
None.
II. Old Business
A. 20391 Park Place, Review and confirmation of Heritage Inventory Criteria and review of Draft
Environmental Documentation of an existing single family home proposed for demolition.
The Commission confirmed the Heritage Inventory criteria and nominated the site to be placed on the
Heritage Resource Inventory. Staff would prepare the appropriate resolution for review and approval. M/S
FJnelDutro, 6-0.
The Commission also reviewed the environmental documentation and forwarded a recommendation to the
Planning Commission to adopt the Mitigated Negative Declaration for this site MIS FinetDutro, 6-0.
III. New Business
A. DR-97-027, 20385 Park Place, Hatkey, Review of a new single family dwelling on a historically
significant site.
The Commission reviewed the proposed home plans and forwarded a positive recommendation, MtS
Fine/Dutro, 6-0., to the Planning Commission with the following suggested conditions:
1. The wall in the front of the home should be limited to no higher than three feet.
2. The colors of the home shall be earth tone.
B. DR-97-031, Kardach, 20271 La Paloma. CEQA review retating to a proposed addition to a
potential historic resource.
The Commission felt that the structure was significant and cited Inventory Criteria and nominated the
site to be on the Heritage Inventory, M/S Koepemik/Fine,6-0. The Commission also praised the design of
the new addition and unanimously determined that the addition met the Secretary of Interior's Standard for
Rehabilitation and therefore required no further CEQA processing, MtS Koepernik/Fine. The Commission
also forwarded a positive recommendation tot he Planning Commission with no suggested conditions, M/S
FinetDutro, 6-0.
IV. Items Initiated by the Commission
Secretary White informed the Commission that he would be leaving the City for a new position with the City
of Palo Alto.
