I. Routine Organization
A. Roll Call
Present: Fine, King, Peck, Peepari, Wyman
Absent: Dutro, Koepernick
Staff: Walgren
B. Approval of minutes dated 8/12/97 and 9/9/97
The minutes were approve 5~0.
C. Posting of the Agenda
Pursuant to Government Code Section 94954.2, the agenda was posted on Wednesday,
October I, I997.
D. Oral and Written Communications
None.
lI. Old Business
A. SD-97-001, LaPaloma/Douglass, Spaich, review of a proposed 15-1ot subdivision
on an IS~acre site, a portion of which is on the Heritage Resources Inventory (the
Hayfield House and Caretaker/Garage buildings).
The Commission heard the proposal and supported the map as submitted. They also
supported the City's efforts to expand and improve the trail system. Approved 5-0
Fine/Peck
B. DR-97-045 & UP-97~009, Park Place, Saratoga Federated Church; review of a
proposed 3,630 sq. fl. addition to the 31,906 sq. ft. church which is listed on the
Heritage Resources Inventory.
The Commission heard the proposal to add 3,630 sq. ft. to the Saratoga Federated
Church and supported the proposal as it would benefit the original architecture of the
Julia Morgan designed Chapel. Approved 5-0 Fine/Peck
III. New Business
A. Hakone Gardens Caretaker's Cottage.
The Commission heard the proposal to renovate the Caretaker's Cottage and supported
the renovation and use of CBDG funds for the project.
B. Change in Architectural Style of three Park Place homes.
The Commission heard the proposal to change the architectural style of the three Park
Place homes from Carmel Cottage to Craftsman. The Commission supported the
architectural changes. Approved 5-0 Fine/Peck
