Motion carried unanimously. B. AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FO~ BIDS FOR SEAL COATING ON CBRTAIN STREETS IN Tl~ CITY OF SARATOGA. The Director of Public Works read the list, attached to the specifica- tions for seal coating projects of the streets proposed for re-surfacing Bids for be either oil and screenings 'seal or slurry seal coating. Espeseth of Tidewater Oil Company commended the Council and Planning Co---~ssion for their consideration of the matters and stated that it is hoped thats some rime in the near futures it will be economically feasible for Tidewater Oil Co. =o remodel the buildin~ to conform with the rest of the area. MERRICK The Clerk reported that Mr. Metrick has asked to withdraw the appeal V-196 as he intends to file for building site approval on ~ corridor lot Herrick- Appeal which will meet the requirements ~f the city and has requested refund of the $20.00 filing fee on the appeal. Councilmn~ Lan~ill moveds seconded by Councilman Hartman to refund the filin~ fee Of $20.00 to Hr. Peck L. Herrick and strike the appeal from the agenda. Herion carried unanimously. VI ADMINISTRATIVE HATTERS A. ~AYOR (1) Nayor pro tern announced thats after havin8 met with Hayor Brazil recently to discuss the possibilities of a compromise regardin~ Highway ~gs another meeting has been scheduled for the 26th or 27th of Augusta at which time they expect to come up with a compromise plan to be referred to the Planning C~mmtssion before it comes back to the Councilo (2) ~ayor pro tam announced that he had also discussed 'with Nayor Brazil the 'parks and recreation problem ands a~ this points . Parks & : :they kope .to hold one or two informal p~blic' meetings' of the Recreation Plannin~ Committee kith a three man special c~.;.-~tttee from the Planning C~,,,,,,tssion in order to get an indication of the publicks desires, He reported that they hope to schaduie these meetings .before the end of the year so that a co~mtttee could be selected from those who attend 'to frm~ a~ issue regarding parks and recreation as it would appear in a bond' issue. B, FINANCE Bills (1) Councilman Drake moved, seconded by Councilman Hartman to approve the bills listed in the amount of $6s813o83 and authorize that warrants be dra~n in payment. Herion carried tmanimously, 1960-61 (2) ~1~e City Administrator announced that the annual andit is Audit currently bein~ conducted and it is expected that qhe completed audit will be presented to the council at its nex~ ~meeting. C. COUNCIL CO~ITrEES (1) Councilmen Hartmnn reported that the water. situation remains in a state of confusion and outlined recent actions of the County various agencies which have contributed to the lacl~ of an ~/ater Commission ~mtcable agreement. He reported that the County Water Ccmm~tssion at its meeting today, had passed a resolution recommending that the Board of Supervisors continue negotiations for South Bay Water, with the understanding that. they would not contract for this water before the commission comes up with a final re~ort on the water importation problem. ~heCo~tssion also ~dopted a metiOn reeomm~-ndtng that the Board of Supervisors levy a establish an emergency water reserve fund. (2) .Nayor pro tam reported that the request for revision of specifi- cations regarding Mt, Eden Estates' Assessment district had been ~lt, Eden ' reviewed by the Planting Comm~ssion, as requested by the council Estates Assessment at its last meeting, and, on the reconmmndation of the Planning District C~,~.~lssion, Councilmen Drake moved that Resolution No. 99 be Amend. to Res.99 mended to incorporate the action of the Planning Co~tssion at its meeting of August 14 with respect to the ~t. Eden Estates Assessment district as set forth in the report of the Secretary of the Pl~ing COmmiSSiOn dated August 15, 1961o Councilmen Hartman seconded the motion ~nich carried unanimously, D. DEPART~tENT HEADS AND' OFFICERS (1) Council and staff discussed.the results of. study and on-site : inspection of Quito Road near Aspesi Drive and concurred that, :..
