ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen Glennon~ Drake, ![artman, Burry, Tyler Absent: None II The Mayor announced that this special meeting had b~en called in accordance with the requirements of Statel~ to consider adoption of a rasoiution formalizing opposition of the City Council to the selection of the proposed Fruitvale Avenue site as a campus of the l~est Valley Junior College District for subsequent presentation to the Board of Trustees of that district. It was moved by Councilman Hartman, seconded by Councilman Burry and un~fmously adopted to waive the requirepant of written notice to the members of the City Council. At the request of the Mayor the Clerk read Resolution ]~o. 202. It was moved by Councilman Burry, seconded by Councilman Hartman that the resolution be adopted. The ~yor announced that the Council would entertain conments from the audience with a time limit of ten minutes for each side. [{r. Sorenson,-Mr~ Thibault, %.~. !!ernandez, and ~r. Jamieson spoke in opposition to the resolution and ~%r. Assenza, ~. Kirkham, and Mr. Priest spoke in favor of the adoption of the proposed resolution. At the conclusion of the public discussion Councilman Drake state~ that his position was still the same and that he ~yould abstain from the vote on the resolution on the grounds that it might be interpreted or used against the district itself and it's future financing program. The questio~ was called for and the resolution was adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Glennon, l~artman, Burry, Tyler ~IOES: None ABSEIIT: None J~STAI~]I~YG: Councilman Drake.
