I. ROLL CALL
Present: Councilmen Bridges, Brigham, .Kra~s and Smith
Absent: Councilman Diridon
II~ CONSIDERATION OF A REQUEST BY JOHN WEiR TO AMEND 1974 SARATOGA GENERAL PLAN TO
CLARIFY STATUS OF FREMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY IN NORTHWEST SARATOGA
The City Manager reported that on May 1,' 1974, the City CoUncil had concluded
hearings on the General Plan. The General Plan reflects that the Fremont Union
High School Districe school site is indicated as Area A~ This was m'ade clear
throughout the public hearings and is mentioned a number of times in the minutes.
However, there is some discrepancy as to whethe~ or not the entire parcel was to
be included in the Slope Conservation Tone, as proposed in the General ~lan. It
was discussed several times~ and there was a question on the part of'some counc. il-
m~ as to whether or not the parcel.should be split because part.of it has a
mountainous terrain, while other portions a~e relatively flat.
Mr. Weir indidated that there was an apparent conflict in his mind in the text of
the General Plan document, and felt it .was nexessary for the Eouncil to clarify,
its position.
After some further discussion, it was recommended and approved that this matter
be referred back to the Planning Commission for review and consideration, and a
report back to the City Council ~t the earliest possible meeting.
