I. ORGANIZATION

Absent: Councilmen Kraus=and Brigham
II. PETITIONS, ORDINANCES AND FORMAL RESOLUTIONS
A. CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST FROM DONALD M. RAINS, CLERK OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS, REQUESTING RECOMMENDATION FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE COUNTY LIBRARY
COMMISSION
The City Council after hearing a report from the City Manager on the current
composition of the Santa Clara County Library Commission moved to support the
reappointment of Mrs. Guerrero to another term on the Commission. In so doing,
however, the Council requested the Board of Supervisors to consider having the
Commission more representative of the cities cover~ by the district. This
is more important today because of the Capital Program to develop new libraries
which are owned by the cities for the purpose of use of the County Library
System.
It was moved by Councilwoman Corr and seconded by Councilman Matteoni that
the Council support Mrs.oGuerrero's reappointment and'indicate to the Board
of Supervisors their concern over the form of representation on the Commission.
III. ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Councilman Ma~teo~ and seconded by Councilwoman Corr the meeting
be adjourned at 8:00 P.M. The motion was carried. The Council then adjourned
to an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing potential litigation after
the Committee of the Whole Meeting.
