AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4-A OF THE
CITY OF SARATOGA~BY ~4KINGI CERTAIN ~MEND~ENTS-
AND ADDITIONS TO TITLEf 10 OF THE-,S~NTA CLARA COUNTY
ORDINANCE CODE THEREIN ADOPTED BY REFERENCE
The City Council of the Ci~ty of Saratoga does hereby ordain
follows:
Section 1: Section 1.I of, Ordinance No. 4-A of the City
of Saratoga is hereby amended by adding to
S&ction 10,1.7-4 of Title 10, Chapter 1, Article 7 of the
Santa Clara County Ordinance Code therein adopted by
reference, the following described.portion of public
highway in the City of Saratoga which is hereby declared
to .be a congested area and is limited to fifteen.(15)

Section 2:

Section 10.1.8-2.1 of Title 10, Chapter 1, Article 8 of ~he
Santa Clara County Ordinance Code therein adopted by
reference, the following designated streets and highways
or portions of the same which are declared to be congested
areas and designated as "No ParkinK" areas'and subject to
the prohibitions as set forth in Section 10.1.8-2 of Santa

Section 10.1-5-2.3 of Titie 10, Chapter 1, Article 5 of the
Santa Clara County Ordinance Code therein adopted by reference
the following portions ofistreets or highways which are
hereby declared to be "Passenger Loading Zones", subject to
the regulations governing the same in said Santa Clara County

Section 10.1.5-3.2 of Title 10, Chapter 1, Article 5 of the
Santa Clara County Ordina~ce Code therein adopted by refer-
ence the following designated portions of the hereinafter
mentioned public highways which are hereb~ declared to be
conEested areas designated as '!Taxi Zones.'. and subject to
the prohibitions otherwise set.forth in Santa Clara County

Section 5:
Section 5.1: Section 1.1 of Ordinance No. 4-A of the City

Section 10.1.5-1.3 of Title 10, Chapter-l, Article 5. of the
Santa Clara'County Ordinance Code.therein adopted by refer-
ence the following designated portions of public highways
which are hereby declared]to he contested areas and designated
as "Co~mnercial..~Qading Zones" and subject to the prohibitions

Section.~:This orainanCe'sh~ll bed0me ~ffective on and
after thirty .(30) days after its passage and
adoption. Sections 1, 2,~ 3, and. 5 hereof, being local
regulation~ o~po~tions Of State'Highways, 'shall cease'to
be operative' six"months ~fter receipt by t~e City Council
of the City of Saratoga of written notice of withdrawal of
approval of the Department of Public Works of the"State of
California. .In such ~aSe theCity'Clerk of the C~ty of Sara-
'.~gs, inmediately upon the effective date of any such'revocation
shall enter
· upon the original copy of this ordinance a
notification of such withdrawal of approval. '
Section7: If any section,' subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this!ordinance is for any reason held
by'a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
decision shall'not affect the validity of the remaining por-
tions of this ordinance. The City Council of the City of
Saratoga hereby declares that jr'would have passed this
ordinance and each section,"subsection, sentence, clause
and phrase ~hereof, irrespective of the fact that any one
or more sections, subsecti0ns, sentences, clauses or phrases
be held invalid or unconstitutional.

This ordinance was regularly introduced and after the waiting
time required by l~wwaS thereafter p~s~ed and adopted this 1st. day
'of Jul7 , 1959, by tha following vote:
