ORDINANCE NO. 4-A-2
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ~IL DEPOSIT ZONES
IN THE CITY OF SARATOGA, E~SIGNATING CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF PUBLIC HIGH~AYS AS SUCH I.~IL D~OSIT
ZO~iS, AND REGULATING PARKING IN SAID ZONES.
The City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby ordain
as follows:
SECTION l: Pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 459.8 of the State
of California and all other applicable State laws,
Section 1.1 of Ordinance 4-A of the City of Saratoga is hereby
amended by adding to Article 5, Chapter l, Title l0 of the Santa
Clara County Ordinance Code therein adopted by reference, the
following section to be designated Section 10.1-5-5, a~d shall
read as follows:
10-1.5-5: Mail Deoosit Zone
No person shall stop, Z stand or park any. motor
vehicle in a mail deposit zone except for the
purpose of depositing '.mail in an adjacent
mailbox.
10.1o~-5.1: Signs and Painted Curbs
Whenever this Article establishes a mail deposit
zone, the top and face~ of- the curb of the section
so established shall be painted white.
10.1.5-5.2: Mail Deposit Zones: Designation of
The following described portions of the herein-
after mentioned public. highways in the City are
hereby designated as Mail Deposit Zones, and
subject to the prohibition set forth in Section

directly in front of the Richfield
Gas Station at 14467 Big Basin Way
commencing at the Westerly driveway
of said gasoline station and proceeding
approximately thirty (30) feet. to the
Easterly. driveway of said gasoline station.
SECTION 2: This ordinancelshall become~ective on and
after thirty *(30) days after its passage and
adoption, and shall cease to be operative six (6) months after
receipt by the City Council of the City of Saratoga of written
notice of withdrawal of approval of the Department of Public
Works of the State of California. In such case the City Clerk
immediately upon the effective date off any such revocation shall
enter upon the original copy of this Ordinance a notification
of such withdrawal of ~pproval.
SECTION ~: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this~Ordinance is for any reason held
by a Court of competent jUriSdiction .to be invalid, such
decision shall not effect the validity of the remaining por-
tions of this Ordinance. The City Council of the City of
Saratoga hereby declares that it would have passed this
Ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and
phrase thereof, irrespective'of the fact that any one or more
sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be held
invalid or unconstitutional.
This Ordinance was regularly introduced and'after the
waiting time required by lawlwas thereafter passed and adopted
this 5th day of June, 1957, by the'following vote:
AYES: Brazil, Jepsen, Langwill, Williams

ABSENT: Eosasco
