AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PORTION OF qUITO HIGHWAY
AS A RESIDENCE DISTRICT, ESTABLISHING 25
PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT, AND AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. ~-A OF THE CITY, OF SARATOGA TO INCLUDE THE SAME
The City Council of the City of Sa=atoga does hereby ordain
as follows:
Section 1: The CityCb~hcil of the.City of. Saratoga does~ on the basis
' of an engin~arin~ and traffic Survey, hereby determine and
find that the existing; p~ fecie~ speed~ l~m{t of 35 I~oPfott'o is ~ore than
reasonable or sa~e on the portion. ~f~.the~.herinaf~er described highway.
Section 1.1 of Ordinance :Z~A of the City. of Saratoga is hereby amended by
adding to Section 10.5.2~1~1 of. Title` I0, Chapter 5, Article 2 of the
Saute Clara County Ordinance Code] therein adopted by re~erence,
following described pOrti~n of Quit0 :Road, which is hereby found and
declared to be in and to .be a residence: district with a prime facie.

Secfiton 2: This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urSency and

health and-sdety, morals and welfare and .based upon the fact that
vehicle. drivers are constantly operating!motor vehicles upon said street
in excess of said speed and wi!1~ unless ~m~diately prohibited,,-continue
to do so and c.a.use a menace to said peace~ health~ sdety and ~elfare,
.and on the basis that the above set forth. prima facie speed limit-is
necessary for the ~diate orderly =ovement of traffic under reasonable
