HomeMy WebLinkAbout4A-5.1 ORDINANCE NO, 4A-S.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 4-A-S OF THE CIT~ OF SARATOGA DIRECTING THAT TRAFFIC CONTROL SI~IAL BE INSTALLED AND CO~IPLIED I'~ITH AT THE INTER- SECTION OF COX AND SARATOGA AVENUES. The City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby ordain as fol lows; Section 1: Section 2 of Ordinance 4A-5 is hereby repealed. Section 2: In accord with Article 3, of Chapter 2 of Division ll ' of the Vehicle Code of the State of California~ an official traffic signal Shall be so installed at the intersection of Cox Avenue and Saratoga Avenue, to control traffic at said intersection by standard form ~reen, yellow~ and red Go~ Caution, and Stop lights, which shall be regulated by the Director of Public 1,1orks to overate in conjunction with the normal traffic flow at said x e t nters c xon. Section 3: This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urffency and emergency measure, effective imediately upon its passage and adoption, and enacted for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, morals and welfare and based upon the facts that a traffic study has been made of said intersection and by reason of the volume of traffic crossinS said intersection under the existinff controls, and without the above set forth controls, there is an i~unediate dan~er to vehicle drivers and pedestrians without such additional control at said intersection. If for any reason this ordinance does not qualify as a emergency ord.inance, the sue shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passa~.e and adoption, ....
