HomeMy WebLinkAbout4-A-9 ORDINANCE NO. ~-A-9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. ~-A OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA BY FLAKING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS AND ADDITIONS TO TITLE 10 OF THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY ORDINANCE CODE THEREIN ADOPTED BY REFERENCE " The City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1: Section 1.1: Section 1.1 of Ordinance ~-A of the City of Saratoga is hereby amended by addlnt to Section 10.1.7-~ of Title 10, Chapter 1, Article 7 of the Santa Clara County Ordinance Code therein adopted by reference the following described portion of public high- ~ way in the City of Saratoga, which is hereby declared , to be a congested area and is limited to fifteen (1~) · ' minute parking: ~ Name of Street Description Oak Street Area commending at Southwesterly boundary line of county library building and Oddfellowst Hall and extending 93 feet northwesterly along Oak Street in front of said library building. Section 2: Section 2.1: Section 1.1 of Ordinance ~A of the City of Saratoga is hereby amended by adding to Title 10, Chapter ~, Article 2 of the Santa Clara County Ordinance Code therein adopted by reference the following section: 10.~.2-2: Traffic Arterials: The public highways of the City of Saratoga listed below in Column (1) are hereby designated as traffic artertals, and it is hereby ordered that vehicles approachin9 the respective traffic arterials from the streets named opposite thereto and listed in Column (2) shall stop before enterin9 the intersection with said traffic arterial. Appropriate stop signs duly authorized by law shall be erectedZa~[ the respective intersections at the locations indicated in Column (3). Saratoga Avenue Crestbrook Drive At Access Point Scotland Drive to Saratoga Ave. -1~ Section 3: This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency and emergency measure, effective immediately upon its passage and adoption and enacted for the preservation of public peace, health, safety, morals and welfare and based upon the facts that a traffic study has been made of the above set forth intersections and congested area and that by reason of the volume of traffic crossing said intersections without the above set forth controls and by reason of the cluttered parking in said congested area, there is an immediate danger to vehicle drivers and pedestrians without such control at such intersections and said congested area. If for any reason 'this ordinance does not qualify as an emergency ordinance, the same shall be effective thirty days after its passage and adoption.
