AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF S~RATOGA APPROVING
THE ~j~NFXATION TO SAID CITY OF CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY DESIGNATED' AS "SARATOGA ANNEXATION 1957-2"
~,FfiEREAS, pursuant to ~he provisions of the Annexation
Act of 1913, a special election was duly ordered and held on
the 10th day of SEPTember, 1957!, in certain inhabited territory
contiguous to the City of SaratYoga, designated as"Saratoga
Annexation 1957-2", and which is hereinafter more particularly
described, and
WHEREAS, at. said sp86ial election the following question
was submitted to the qualified !electors residing in said terri-
tory:
"Shall Saratoga Anneiation 1957-2 be annexed to and
incorporated within the City of Saratoga, the property
therein to be subject to taxation after such annexa-
tion equally with all other property ~.rithin said
City of Saratoga~''
and
WEE&S, it appears from a canvas of the returns c~ the
votes cast at said special ele.~tion that a majority of all votes
casts in said terr{tory on sai~ question favor annexation upon
the terms contained in the question submitted, and
~SEREAS, it appears that the special election and all
proceedings relating thereto h. ave been conducted strictly in
accordance with law,
NG,~f~ THEREFORE~ the City Council of the City of Saratoga
does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1.: That the annexation of inhabited territory
contiguous to the City of Saratoga and
designated as "Sarato~a Annexation 1957-2" be and the
same is hereby approved upon the terms contained in the
aforesaid question which was submitted at the special
election held on th,e lOth day of September, 1957; Said
territory is more p,articularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the Southerly line of Prospect
Road (40 feet wide), said point being 400.00 feet Westerly
measured along said line of Prospect Road from the Westerly
line of Saratoga-Sunnyvale hoed as it now exists (40 feet
wide)~ said point being alsb a corner in the Northerly
boundary of the original City limits line of the City of
Saratoga; thence following the original City limits line of
the City of Saratoga as follows: Southerly~ parallel with
and 400.00 feet Westerly from the said Westerly line of
Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road to the intersection thereof with the
center line of Calabazas Creek; thence in a general South-
westerly direction upstream along the center line of C~labszas
Creek to the intersection thereof with the Northerly line of
· Wardell Road (40 feet wide) ;. thence Easterly along said Northerly
line of t'[ardell'Road to the intersection thereof with the
Westerly line of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road (40 feet wide); thence
Northerly along said l~esterly line of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road
to the intersection with the said Southerly line of Prospect
Road ( 0 feet wide)', said point being 400.00 feet Easterly
measured along said line of Prospect Road from the point of
beginning; thence leaving the original City limits line of
the City of Saratoga and mmningWesterly along the said
Southerly line of Prospect R6ad (40 feet wide) to the point
of beginning.
SECTION 2: The City Cleric is~ hereby directed to prepare a
certified copy of t~bis 0rdinance~ giving the date
of its passage~ and transmit ~the same to the Secretary of State
of the State of California for filing.
This Ordinance was regularly introduced and a~ter the waiting
time required by law was thereafte~ passed and adopted this _2~d__
