HomeMy WebLinkAbout71.61E-2 ORDINKNCE NO. 71.61E-2 AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 71.61E PERTAINING TO CONSERVATION OF WATER The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby ordains as'follows: SECTION 1: The City Council finds and determines that: (a) Although water consumption within the City has been significantly reduced as a result of compliance by citizens of Saratoga with the conservation measures required under Ordinance No. 71.61E, as adopted by the City Council on March 28, 1989, the drought conditions still exist and efforts to conserve water must therefore be continued. (b) Because the quantity of rain was again below normal during the 1989-90 rainy season, it is necessary to reinstate the restriction against exterior landscape watering during daylight hours that was repealed by Ordinance No. 71.61E-1. There is an urgent need to impose such restriction immediately in order to conserve the scarce water supply. SECTION 2: Subparagraph (a)(7) is added to Section 2 of Ordinance No. 71.61E, to read as follows: "No exterior landscape watering shall be allowed during the day between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m." SECTION 3: Subparagraph (a)(8) in Section 2 of Ordinance No. 71.61E is hereby repealed. SECTION 4: Except as herein amended, Ordinance No. 71.61E is declared to be in full force and effect. SECTION 5: This Ordinance is an urgency ordinance and shall become effective immediately upon adoption. 1 The above and foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 21st day of March, 1990, by the following vote: AYES: CouncilmembersAnderson, MDyles, Peterson, Stut~anandMayorClevenger NOES: None ABSENT:None City Clerk The ab,o, ve and foregoin, is a true and correct Deputy City Clerk
