AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA AMENDING
SECTIONS 5-20.020 AND 5-20.030 OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF SARATOGA PERTAINING TO CONSTRUCTION TAX
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby ORDAINS as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5-20.020 of the Code of the City of
Saratoga is hereby amended by modifying subsection (g) thereof
and adding subsection (h) thereto, to read as follows:
"(g) Structure means that which is built or constructed, an
edifice or building of any kind, or any piece of work
artificially built up or composed of parts joined together
in some definite manner, requiring issuance of a building
permit prior to construction and including a roof covering.
(h) Roof covering means any construction joining two or
more of the vertical walls of a structure at the upper
portion thereof, regardless of whether or not intended for
weather protection."
SECTION 2. Section 5-20.030 of the Code of the City of
Saratoga is hereby amended by modifying subsection (b)(1) thereof
to read as follows:
"(b) Tax rate. The rate of the tax imposed by this Article
shall be as follows:
(1) Fifty-seven cents per square foot of floor area of
any building or structure."
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
The above and foregoing Ordinance was regularly introduced
and after the waiting time required by law, was thereafter passed
held on the 20tb %0 , 1991, by the
following vote.
AYES: Councilmembers Anderson, Clevenger. Monia, Stutzman and Mayor Kohler
