HomeMy WebLinkAbout71.144 ORDINANCE NO. 71-144 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA ESTABLISHING INTERIM STANDARD8 FOR PLACEMENT OF TEMPORARY SIGNS AND SUSPENDING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME CERTAIN CURRENT SIGN CODE PROVISIONS The City Council of the city of Saratoga hereby ordains as follows: SECTION 1: Interim standards for placement of Temporary Signs are hereby established, to read as follows: a) Size: The maximum size of a temporary sign or banner is 40 square feet. b) Location: Temporary signs or banners shall be affixed to a principal building and shall not project above the roof line of the building. c) Duration: Temporary signs or banners may be displayed for a maximum of 42 days within a 6 month period. d) Permit Required: An administrative permit (and accompanying fee) shall be required prior to the installation and/or display of a temporary sign or banner. e) Exception: Temporary signs or banners will not be allowed in the Village or for gasoline service stations. SECTION 2: During the operative period of this Ordinance, enforcement of provisions of the Sign Ordinance in conflict with Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be suspended. SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall remain operative for a period of six (6) months from its effective date, after which it shall be of no further force or effect. SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days ~fter its passage and adoption. The above and foregoing Ordinance was regularly introduced and after the waiting time required by law, was thereafter passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of Saratoga held on the 7th day of September , 1994, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Jacobs, Moran, Tucker, Wolfe and Mayor Burger NOES: None ABSENT: None ~~~ Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk pu~or to law, ~O~puty City Clerk .....
