ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SARATOGA REPEALING ARTICLE 5-30 OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF SARATOGA, ENTITLED "UTILITY USERS TAX"
AND DISCONTINUING IMPOSITION OF THE TAX
EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 1996
Recitals
WHEREAS, at ~he General Municipal Election on November 5, 1996 the
voters of the City of Saratoga were asked whether the City's Utility Users Tax should
be continued to January 1, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the voters of the City of SaratOga voted not to continue the
Utility Users Tax to January 1, 2001; and
WHEREAS, in response to the decision of the voters, the existing Utility Users
Tax provisions must be repealed from the Code of the City of Saratoga.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby ordains
as follows:
.SECTION 1. Article 5-30 of the Code of the City of Saratoga, entitled
"Utility Users Tax" is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its adoption provided, however, the terms of this Ordinance discontinuing
imposition of the Utility Users Tax shall be effective as of December I, 1996.
The above and foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of Saratoga held on the 4th day of Decenlzer , 1996, by the following
vote.
AYES: Councilmembers Bogosian, Jacobs, Shaw, Wolfe and Mayor Moran
