SUBJECT: Award of Contract Purchase of Brush Chipper
Issue Summary
Bids were received on the subject brush chipper and were opened
on December 9, 1985, at 3:00 P.M.. We received five (5) bids,
lowest being from Sierra Moreno Mercantile Company at $11,173.40.
Other bids were from Morbark California, Inc. at $12,720; J.L.
Enterprises, $12,834.32; Vermeer Sales and Service, $12,974.82
and Richard's Service and Supply, $12,659.53. $10,000 was
budgeted for the chipper and Saratoga Elementary School District
will pay $2,000 of the cost. This combination will cover the
$11,173.40 bid by Sierra Moreno Mercantile Company.
Recommendation
Award the bid to Sierra Moreno Mercantile Company in the amount
of $11,173.40.
Fiscal Impact
$10,000 is included in the 1985 -86 F.Y. Budget funded from the
Capital Improvement Project Fund.

SUBJECT: Resolution Ordering Abatement of a Public Nuisance by Removal of Hazardous
Weeds
Issue Summary
The attached resolution represents the second step in the weed abatement process for
this season. The County has sent the owners of the parcels requiring weed abatement
notices informing them that the weeds must be abated, either by the owners or by the
County. The notice also informed them that they may present objections at tonight's
public hearing.
Recommendation
Conduct public hearing.
Adopt attached resolution ordering abatement. (If Council wishes to remove any
parcel from the list, it may do so by resolution.)
Fiscal Impacts
None to City. County recovers its costs from administrative portion of fee charged.
