SUBJECT: Solid Waste Management Agreements
Recommended Motion:

Authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement and addendum No. 2 to
the agreement for solid waste management service between the Cities of
Campbell, Monte Sereno and Saratoga and the Town of Los Gatos.
Report summary:
Since 1990 Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and Saratoga have been
working under a joint agreement to staff and fund administrative
activities related to the mandates of the State Integrated Solid Waste
Management Act. Under the original agreement Saratoga has been the host
city in terms of housing staff, and providing supervision and
administrative support. In June of this year, because of budget cutbacks
in Saratoga,-it was agreed to change the host city to Monte Sereno. This
new agreement formalizes that change. Except for this one substantive
change the 1993 agreement remains essentially unchanged from the 1990
agreement.
Addendum No. 2 sets forth the cost sharing formula and the program budget
for 1993 -94, which has already been reviewed and recommended at the staff
level for each of the four agencies. The budget for 1993 -94 is set at
$78,683. Saratoga's share is 29.4% based on our population and comes to
$23,132.80. This amount.has already been appropriated in the City's
approved 1993 -94 budget.
