AGENDA BILL NO: v 3 DATE: April 12, 1985 DEPARTMENT: FINANCE Dept Head: City Atty: City Mgr : SUBJECT: Transfer of appropriations for purchase of replacement A/C & heating unit. Issue Summary On April 3, 1985 during a routine maintenance inspection of the A/C & heating unit which serves the Community Development_ _.- Department area of city hall the maintenance contractor found a problem which State law requires the unit be. turned off for. This left the Community Development Department without heating or air conditioning until,; the unit could be repaired or replaced. Because of the age and condition of the existing unit (approx 22 years old) both the maintenance contractor and City Maintenance Director suggested the unit be replaced rather than repaired. The Maintenance Department has enough savings left on two other capital items to cover the purchase of the new unit (approx $3900.00), consequently the replacement will not require additional appropriations. Recommendation o Approve the attached resolution transfering the appropriations. Fiscal Impact The unit will cost approx. $3,900.00, but will not require additional appropriations since it can be covered by savings in previously budgeted capital items. .
