Meeting Minutes
DATE: Tuesday, January 15, 2013
TIME: 4:00 pm
LOCATION: City of Saratoga Administrative Conference Room, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue,
Saratoga, CA 95070
1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order by the Chair at 4pm
2. Roll Call: Present: Swan, Stallman; Staff: Harvancik, Vo; Absent: Cosyn, Waltonsmith
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: So done
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: Accepted
5. Approval of Minutes: Approved June and September (PEBTACIPRC) meeting minutes
6. Oral and Written Communication: none
7. Old Business
• Blue Hills School Crossing update - Neighborhood side is now open to Joe's Trail and
will be improved next month. VTA has issued their annual call for project. Council
retreat end of this month will take up what CIP projects move forward.
• Quarry Property update -A guided walk is scheduled for May 18 at 9:30 for the public -
property otherwise remains closed. The RFP for an open space development plan is to be
issued soon by the City. Mid Pen Open Space District and the County Parks Department
are stakeholders
8. Staff Report
• Extensive rehab has been completed for the Heritage Orchard perimeter Trail
• HWY 9 Phase 2 pedestrian pathway project is underway
• Saratoga Ave sidewalk project is proceeding from the former Post Office to Park Place
9. New Business
Capital Improvement Projects related to trails —
Currently funded: Village Creek Trail, Village Creek Overlook, Quarry Master Plan
10. Reports
• Pending trails updates - none
• Member reports — Jim:
— Joe's Trail weathered the heavy rainfall well - staying puddle free while
adjacent areas turned into lakes
— Saratoga Creek Trail upstream of Scotland Dr. now has rustic wood &
open grid wire fencing - not chain link
— Heritage Orchard Trail is in great shape - all weather wood chips nicely
graded
Mary Ann: Villa Montalvo hillsides has Sudden Oak Death - containment measures
will be investigated
11. Action Items Summary
Candidates to serve as the rep to the VTA BPAC are needed due to a recent vacancy.
