The Inventory has been prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the State Office of Historic Preservation, with data gathered from a variety of sources, including historic documents and books, interviews with local citizens, and existing county and state inventories that contain information on Saratoga properties. We have enclosed the entire Inventory list and the individual Inventory form for your property, which gives information about the building, the property and its history. We would appreciate your review of this form to let us know if there are any changes or additions to the form you wish to include. We also anticipate that there are additional historic resources in the community that we may have overlooked or have not fully documented yet; if you know of any that are not on the list, please let us know. If you have any questions, please direct them to the Commission through Valerie Young, our staff person at City Hall (867- 3438). Johnston 170 13th Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 Dear Mrs. Johnston, The Saratopa Heritage Preservation Commission is in the process of revising the city's survey of historic sites. This survey identifies the historic sites in Saratoga and includes the home you own on Brookwood Lane. I have enclosed the current survey sheet. We are hoping to correct and add to this information. Do you have any additional facts that would be helpful to us? We need information about the construction, identification of the builder, date of original construction and any additions or modifications that have been made to the exterior of the orginal structure. We would also be interested in any information you might have about Henry Jarboe or any other historically significant occupants of the home, or historical events that took place there. If you have any photographs of the house as it was in the past, and a current photo that shows the house to its best advantage, we would appreciate it. If not, would you mind if a new photo were taken? I hope that you will be able to help us as we accurately and completely document all of the historically significant structures in Saratoga. I am including an application for the designation of your home as a heritaqe resource in Sarato7a so that its historic character can be preserved in the years to come. presently we have eight historic Sesignations!
