Oral Communication - Any member of the public may address the Commission about any matter not on the agenda for this meeting for up to three minutes. d. HPC direction to staff regarding non-agendized oral communications - Commissioners may not comment on the matter but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda. 2. New Business a. Quarry Update—City staff update (discussion) b. Quarry Park History Focus Group—Chair/Vice Chair update (discussion) c. Saratoga Historical Foundation Board meeting—Chair/Vice Chair update (discussion) d. HPC Training update-Proposal attached e. Mills Act Overview — Staff will provide an overview of the Mills Act program (staff report attached). a. Website: Feedback from HPC on adding information to the website: (e.g., Heritage Inventory, Heritage Tree Inventory, Designated Landmarks, Mills Act, FAQs, resource links, etc. (discussion) f. 21164 Tollgate Road. Commissioner Shah will present pictures and reasons for adding the home to the inventory. 3. Old Business: a. Heritage Inventory Update. Review photos taken by Commissioners and discuss the architectural styles of homes added to the Heritage Resource Inventory(no staff report). i. 13685 Saratoga Vista Avenue- Year: TBD.Name: TBD. Style: "Spanish Revival" 4. Action Items: b. Demolition permit: There are no regulations against demolishing a property listed on the Heritage Inventory. However, a permit is required to "alter, demolish, remove, relocate or otherwise change any exterior architectural feature or natural feature of a designated historic landmark or structure within a designated heritage lane or historic district. c. John Henry House:No permits have been applied for as of August 8th. d. Website update—City staff to add Heritage Tree Inventory to website e. HPC training—City staff to work with Chair/Vice Chair on training opportunities 5. Commissioner Comments 6. The appeal shall be taken by filing with the Secretary of the Planning Commission a written notice and filing fee within ten (10) days of the date of the decision. In accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act, copies of the staff reports and other materials provided to the Historical Preservation Commission by City staff in connection with this agenda are available at the office of the Community Development Department Director at 13777 Fruitvale Avenue, Saratoga, California 95070. Any materials distributed by staff after the posting of the agenda are made available for public review at the office of the Director at the time they are distributed to the Planning Commission.
