Call to Order: Meeting called to order by the Chair at 4:OOpin Roll Call: Present: Stallman, Swan; City liaison Harvancik; Absent: Waltonsmith; No response: Cosyn 2. Report on Posting of the Agenda: Confirmed by staff 3. Accept Agenda Items and Order: New Business moved for�ward 4. Approval of Minutes: June meeting minutes app�oved 5. Oral and Written Communication: Bill Taylor Facilities Director at West ilalley College (WVC), announced a public meeting workshop to be held December 12, 2013 at WVC for the West Valley Creek Restoration and Trail Plan - see www.westvallev.edu/creek 6. New Business • Trash Receptacles - item requested by Ray Cosyn who was a no show • Bridge Plan for Quito Rd. -Project is underway and a meeting was held for residents in the area. There may be tree removal and ROW acquisition as part of the project. Discussion included comments that straightening the road is not part of the plan nor is it desired. The road may be a candidate for Heritage Lane designation akin to the 1 mile section of Saratoga Avenue in the cente�of Saratoga. • Route 9 Bicycle Improvement Plan including Quito Road Intersection - Caltrans regulation shoulde�s and a pathway along the east side of�Quito are part of�the plan. 7. Old Business • Blue Hills School Crossing update (reconnect Saratoga) - Staff reports that a funding application will be drawn up in Decembe�with the help of VTA and that VTA is assisting in setting up UP negotiations to purchase the easement. •Quarry Park Master Plan update - The 3rd Parks and Rec Commission hosted workshop was held. Trails within the park and trails connecting to adjacent corridors are shown on the draft plan. •Capital Improvement Projects related to trails -HWY9 Project Phase II,pedestrian crossings and pathway definition improvements, is finished and a ribbon cutting is pending. Phase III was the Austin Way intersection safety upgrade al�eady completed. The Phase IV pedestrian pathway east of Fruitvale is forthcoming. 8. Staff Report • Trail Maintenance was performed at Villa Oaks to rehabilitate a drainage crossing. • Caltrans is working on Highway 9/Big Basin Way/Congress Springs Road to add shoulde�width. 9. Reports • Pending trails updates - Discussed trail routing from Congress Springs Rd. over to Mt. Eden valley with regards to easements which are in place cu�rently but have no trail seginents on them. •Member reports -discussion centered on desired site visits 10. Action Items Summary - Committee members will conduct ad-hoc site visits to further better acquaint themselves with: - the Quito Rd. rural corridor pathways - Quarry Park in Half Moon Bay - Saratoga Quarry Park - Villa Oaks trail 11.
