Call to Order
Roll Call
Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2,the agenda for this
meeting was properly posted on August 17, 2014.
Oral &Written Communications:Any member of the public may address the Commission about any
matter not on the agenda for this meeting for up to three minutes. Commissioners may not comment on
the matter, but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda.
Approval of Minutes: Draft minutes for the June 25, 2014 and August 27, 2014 meetings.

1. Emerging Trends
Issue: Continue ongoing discussion on emerging trends.
Action: Discuss trends.
2. Upcoming Events
Issue: Continue ongoing discussion on upcoming events.
Action: Discuss upcoming events.
New Business
3. New Chair and Vice Chair
Issue: Discuss and elect new chair and vice chair.
Action: Vote on new chair and vice chair.
4. Recap of the Joint Session with the Saratoga City Council
Issue: The Saratoga Library Commission, and staff from the Santa Clara County Library District
and Saratoga Library met with the Saratoga City Council for their annual joint meeting
on October 15, 2014. Commissioners could discuss ideas and thoughts from the
meeting, as well as update Commissioners who were not able to attend.
Action: Discuss item.
5. 2015 Work Plan
Issue: The Library Commission creates a new work plan each year, which is presented to the
Saratoga City Council during an annual joint meeting.
Action: Discuss ideas for 2015 Work Plan.
6. Determine Date for Meeting in December
Issue: Due to the holiday season,the Commission meeting is usually rescheduled.The
Commission should decide upon a new meeting date in December.
Action: Determine and vote on December meeting date.
