Meeting Minutes

1. Call to Order:Meeting called to order by the Chair at 4:06pm
2. Roll Call: Present: Stallman, Swan, Cosyn; City liaison Harvancik
absent: Waltonsmith
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: So done
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: No changes
5. Approval of Minutes:April 15, 2014 Minutes approved
6. Oral and Written Communication: None
7. Old Business:
— Blue Hills School Safety Crossing update (reconnect Saratoga) -staff
is working with SJWCo and Union Pacific Railroad to satisfy their
requirements
— Quarry Park Master Plan/Phase 1 - design schedule is being developed
— Highway 9 Safety Improvements next phase— Three Oaks to Fruitvale
construction funded, Fruitvale to Quito designed, but not funded..
8. Staff Report—upcoming events and other reports
October 25 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Witchy Walk-a-bout, Saratoga Village
November 28th 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm tree lighting ceremony, Blaney Plaza
Short section of a new sidewalk was completed on Saratoga Avenue. Bus
shelter will be installed there this winter
New pedestrian crossing with push-button-activated flashing lights
installed on Saratoga Avenue at Crestbrook
Audible crossing signals for pedestrians installed at existing crossings on
Saratoga-Sunnyvale at Cox and at Seagull
Pending trails updates
- All trails have been trimmed and sprayed for poison oak
- Five Pet Waste Stations were installed on Joe's Trail;four more
will be installed on following trail heads: Carnelian Glen trail,
San Marcos trail, Parker Ranch trail at Prospect and Parker
Ranch at Star Ridge
9. New Business
— SCVWD Grant Application for Village Creek Trail - application
approved for submittal.
10. Reports
Member Reports
Drain grates used for the new bus stop at Federated Church were
identified as being unsafe if installed upside down by mistake. There is a
better style available and the ones that were used should not be used in
any future projects.
