Briefly describe the present physical appearance of the site or structure and describe any major alterations from its original condition: This simple pioneer cottage has the living area on the main floor. The attic was converted to two bedrooms by the present owner. The wood - shingle roof is a center gable with the wide side towards the street. The walls are clad in clapboard and the windows are multi -paned wood sash. A porch extends along the entire front of the house, with two pillars of concrete with brick quoins at either end, and a single wood post in the center. The porch rail consists of a low concrete wall topped with used brick. A brick chimney extends from the front porch up through the roof. 8. Construction date: Estimated: 1906 Factual: 9. The earliest owners of this cottage were probably Emil and Nellie Henris who, in 1906 conveyed the property to Herman Henris. The owner in 1938 was Albert C. Hayes who sold in that year the lower portion of the property fronting on St. Charles Street. The present owners have lived in the house since 1966. 20.
