7b. Briefly describe the present physical appearance of the site or structure and describe any major alterations from its
original condition:
The house is one story with a partial basement. Exterior walls
are 1x8 bevel siding with double hung wood sash windows. The
house has a side gabled roof of moderate slope and an eave overhang
of two feet with exposed rafters, Rake projection shows exposed wood
beams with triangular knee braces, Roof facing front has a low
shed dormer with long ribbon window divided into small lights. Roof
at porch across front is supported by square columns with 1x8
bevel siding and extending to ground level. At each end of front
stairs there is a low wall. The front door is a flush wood door
with three asymmetrical horizontal rectangular windows.

SIGNIFICANCE
19. Briefly state historical and /or architectural importance (include dates, events, and persons associated with the site.)
The house was built between 1909 and 1911 by Mr. & Mrs. Charles
Miller. Mrs. Miller, born Lillian Malone, inherited the property
originally 40 acres, jointly with her sister. The property had
been a fruit ranch, and Mr. & Mrs. Miller kept the trees. Mr.
Miller ran a gas station (Union '76) on the property as well as
a small general grocery. Mrs. Miller sold home -made cookies
which according to a sign on the property were "Really Good ".
Charles Miller also used the barn on the property to do machine
work and repair cars. Mr. Miller was a coronet player and one of
the founders of the Saratoga Band. The gas station was closed in
1968, but Mrs. Miller continued to live on the property until it
was acquired by the present owners.
