Briefly state historical and /or architectural importance (include dates, events, and persons associated with the site). The original owner of this house was Anna Bee, a native of Eden, Maine, who purchased 25 acres of land from a Mr. McGraw in 1902. The house was built shortly after. In 1921 the property was sold by C.A. O'Connor to Clara Wooster, realtor and wife of Charles B. Wooster, a prominent attorney. The house remained in the Wooster family for 44 years until 1965 when the Wooster's son, David, sold it and two acres to Lui and Marcelle Venator. Mrs. Venator, a well known skier, is noted as being one of the first women sportscasters. After her death in 1983, the house was vacant until sold to the present owners in 1987. The sturdily built barn, dating from 1905, lies downhill from the house to the northeast; it was sold in 1969 with 2.7 acres by David Wooster to Charles Guichard, who converted it to a residence. Much of the property was put into wine grapes and Mr. Guichard carries on a small wine - making operation in the basement of the original barn. 20.
