ROUTINE ORGANIZATION The meeting was called to order.by Planning Director at 3 :00 P.M. A. ROLL CALL Present.: Marty VanDuyn., Planning Director; Don Burt, Planner I.; Nancy Marek, Recording Secretary. Mr' VanDuyn reviewed the intent and purpose of the Two- Story Ordinance NS- 3.ZC -73 and mentioned that No tices.of Hearing were duly.sent-to press and'surrouriding. neighbors. II. PUBLIC HEARINGS `. A. UP -246 - Kosich Construction Company, Verde Court (Tract 5328, Lot 3) - Request for Two- Story.Use Permit to Allow the Construction of Two -Story Home Mr..VanDuyn stated that five letters had.been received by'the Planning- Department opposing the granting of a Use Permit for Two -Story Construction. The letters were. as •follows: (1) Mr. & Mrs. Carl I. 'Nelson 13773 Prune Blossom Drive Saratoga, Ca. '(2) Mrs. Margaret Mogannam 13774 Tamworth.Ave. Saratoga, Ca.: (3) Owen D. Jacobsen 20631 Woodward Court Saratoga,.'Ca. (4) Mr. & Mrs. R.P. Anderson 20511 Verde Vista Ln. Saratoga, Ca. (5). Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd N. Case. 20537 Verde Vista Ln. Saratoga, Ca.. _,Mr. Kosich - stated he talked with three families in the surrounding area, and none objected. Mies. Mauri,.20552 Verde Court was present, and stated that she had no objections and that atwo -story wouldn't 'impact on her home. Members of the audience stated -.that they didn't want,a 2 -story home because it would start a precedent,--1t wasn.':t in-keeping-with the street.and.it would .impact and infringe on other homes.. Mr. Kosich stated that Verde Court was 5 -feet lower in grade than Tamworth, and that the home .therefore wouldn't. impact. Director asked Planner if the basics of the Code (as(; >to height, coverage,...rear and sideyard setbacks) had been.met. Planner xeplied "yes ". Director asked Planner if there were any other 2- story houses contiguous. Planner " replied no r Director directed Mr. Kosich to talk with lot owners to see if a one -story were acceptable to them. Director continued the Use Permit Public Hearing (UP -246) to 3:00 P.M. August 14, 1974 to the Crisp Conference Room. III.
