ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting Minutes
DATE: Tuesday, October 18, 2016
TIME: 4:00 pm
LOCATION: City of Saratoga Planning Conference Room, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue,
Saratoga, CA 95070
1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order by the Chair at 4:00pm
2. Roll Call: Present: Stallman, Swan, Waltonsmith; City liaison Harvancik.
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: So done
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: No change
5. Approval of Minutes: Minutes for July 19, 2016 meeting approved
6. Oral and Written Communication: None
7. Old Business
• Blue Hills Safety Railroad Crossing update: Moving ahead with 10% design
submitted to UP & CPUC
• Prospect Road Improvements update: 100% design; approved by City
Council; Expecting Bids process in November
• Anza Trail Certification: Draft agreement in process
• Garrod Trail connection to Parker Ranch Open Space: Trail easement is
recorded now for the Parker Ranch segment; signs are being made up for the
Garrod segment
• Bicycle rack locations: No new adders – expecting the new bus stops at the
Village to get one – already on the planning map
• Safe Routes to School Maps: Under review – will probably add to the city
website like the interactive Trail Map
8. Staff Report & Upcoming events:
• Pending trails update:
San Marcos got new woodchips; Douglass – Douglass tree debris cleanup
pending; Quarry trail plan is being implemented
9. New Business
• Bicycle rack locations: Citywide Plan in place
• Safe Routes to School Maps: Routes can be identified for posting like what
the City of Mt. View has
10. Reports (information only, no actions to be taken) • Members reports:
Los Altos “Cycle Saturday” announcement
HWY 9 crosswalk safety discussed
Hakone trail sign revamp discussed
Connecting path to the Village will be a CIP candidate in January

• Check out all of the new trails in Quarry Park
