ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting Minutes
DATE: Tuesday, October 20, 2015
TIME: 4:00 pm
LOCATION: City of Saratoga Planning Conference Room, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue,
Saratoga, CA 95070
1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order by the Chair at 4:00pm
2. Roll Call: Present: Cosyn, Stallman, Swan, Waltonsmith; City liaison Harvancik
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: So done
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: No change
5. Approval of Minutes: Minutes for July 21, 2015 meeting approved
6. Oral and Written Communication: Saratoga resident Gurjeet Saund attended the
meeting and expressed his interest in Committee actions, available bicycle and
pedestrian trails maps and other City Commissions. Information will be provided via
email.
7. Old Business
• Quarry Park Phase 1 update – grand opening October 31, 2015: Signs have been
posted for the quarry "mine shaft" opening.
• Blue Hills Safety Railroad Crossing update: Staff is currently working with our
State Senator.
• Prospect Rd. Improvements update: A presentation and public input session will
be scheduled in November.
• Anza Trail Certification: Staff is working with County and National Park Service
trails rep.
8. Staff Report & Upcoming events:
• Pending Trails update: All staff efforts near term are devoted to the Quarry Park
grand opening.
9. New Business
• Review Committee Members attendance rules: No requirement is in place.
10. Reports (information only, no actions to be taken)
• Member reports:
Swan noted possible Garrod Trail connection opportunities and Sanborn Park
trails.
Ray is working to improve bike detection at some intersections.
Jim called attention to Safe Routes to School maps posted on the City of Mt. View
website and also noted the work nearing completion on Hacienda in Campbell
incorporating Complete Streets features.
