Meeting Minutes
DATE: Tuesday, January 19, 2010
TIME: 7:00 pm.
LOCATION: City of Saratoga Planning Offices, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue, Saratoga, CA 95070
1. Call to Order 7:00 start
2. Roll Call: Brooks, Cosyn, Goldberg, Stallman, Waltonsmith; All present
Staff: Harvancik
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the
agenda for this meeting was properly posted on January 15, 2010. Duly posted
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: No additional items may be added pursuant to
Government Code Section 54954.2. No changes
5. Approval of Minutes Approved
6. Oral and Written Communication:
Any member of the public may address the Committee about any matter not on the agenda
for this meeting for up to three minutes. Committee Members may not comment on the matter
but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda. None
7. Staff Report
- Interpretive signs installed at San Marcos and Parker Ranch – Eagle Scout Project
- Trimming done: Parker Ranch, Carnelian Glen, & Saratoga Av to Shadow Oaks
- Villa Oaks trail off Mt. Eden Rd. re-alignment has been done
8. Old Business
• Joe’s Trail construction status - Going out to bid end of this week
• West Valley College Greenbelt – grant application support – Committee approved
• Update on the Blue Hills School RR Crossing Safety Project – Need UP permission
9. New Business
• Saratoga Creek (Village) Trail – City grant application support – Committee approved
10. Reports (information only, no actions to be taken)
• Pending trails updates: None
• Member reports:
- Shankar trail is muddy
- Question asked about signal timing – allowing enough time for pedestrians to cross
- No Mustard Festival this year
- Suggested planning a ribbon cutting of Tank Trail new section
- Mt. Eden Rd trail condition – wood chips, gravel, & drainage
- Caltrans plans to widen section of Highway 9 between Saratoga Village and
Skyline Blvd in 3 places, 2 of them are within Saratoga City limits
11. Action Items Summary
• Public Works has Mt. Eden Rd. trail drainage in the queue for corrective action
• Ray to recommend whether County Bike Ed link should be added to City web site
