Meeting Minutes
DATE: Tuesday, November 16, 2010

LOCATION: City of Saratoga Planning Offices, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue, Saratoga, CA 95070
1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order by the Chair at 4:04 pm
2. Roll Call: Present: Goldberg, Stallman, Swan, Waltonsmith; Staff: Harvancik
Absent: Cosyn
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the agenda for
this meeting was properly posted on November 12, 2010.
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: Accepted
5. Approval of Minutes: October 2010 Minutes approved
6. Oral and Written Communication: none
7. Old Business:
• Saratoga Creek Trail update – Denise reported to Planning Commission on the site visit
Ann met with Children’s Garden group to report on site visit
• Review PRC tree planting – City arborist is maintaining the list for candidate planting locations
• Circulation Element bicycle route re-evaluation – An alternative route to Quito using Sobey Rd.
has been suggested with a direct connection to Allendale being ideal; Old Adobe Rd through
Monte Sereno may also work if a connection to HWY 9 exists
• Parker Ranch Trail update – Ribbon cutting event is Friday 11/19 at 3pm at Picea Ct.
• Hakone Gardens trail work – A church volunteer group rebuilt the lower trail
• Public trails hike – Community hikes are to be scheduled through the Parks and Recreation
Commission - note that this doesn’t apply to committee site visits
8. Staff Report: Circulation Element is on the Consent Calendar for the 11/18 City Council Meeting
9. New Business
• Saratoga Avenue walking connections – funded CIP project will complete path along south side
• Garrod Annexation – committee expressed support for annexation and trail dedication proposal
• SCVWD grant opportunity – continued to next meeting pending receipt of next grant request
10. Reports (information only, no actions to be taken)
• Pending trails updates – Joe’s Trail Construction photos presented
• Member reports - Calabazas Creek Picnic Area flood control construction photos presented
11. Action Items Summary: Schedule site visits for Sobey Rd. & Congress Springs Park northside
access
