In addition, the existing city trail easement at Sobey and Sobey Meadows Ct. was reviewed (map and discussion) as a candidate walking cut-through connecting Arcadia Palms Dr. (Allendale side) to Sobey Rd. without having to negotiate the 10 Acres Rd./Chester hill. • Garrod Annexation trail easements - Proposed trail connections from Mt. Eden Rd. frontage to the Upper Tank Trail and also to Mid-Pen Open Space / Fremont Older Park were discussed with regards to the property owner's suggested trail alignments. Staff will investigate further with the property owner given input by the committee and their questions regarding existing trail designations - if any - in County jurisdiction portions of the property. • Saratoga Avenue walking connections - Completion of the path is part of the 2011 CIP and will connect the rest of the way from La Paloma to Seagraves on the south side. 8. Staff Report: • Joe's Trail: Currently, work is taking place along the parking lot by Congress Springs Park. • ADA intersection features for Sunnyvale-Saratoga Rd. are being installed at Herriman, Blauer, and Reid. • HWY 9 pedestrian path will ultimately connect from Vickery to Monte Sereno on the north side - filling in the present gaps. 9. New Business • SCVWD grant opportunity - no details are posted yet except that it would probably entail a 50% match. A discussion ensued about possible use by West Valley College to construct the Vasona Creek Trail or use by the City to begin construction of portions of the Village Trail. • Calabazas Creek trail - No action was identified for now. Staff is working towards extending Joe's trail westward to Arroyo De Arguello with project money from the main Joe's trail project which may be available. The trail crossing is at Seagull. • Congress Springs Park north side access path - Restoration of the Pride's Crossing neighborhood pathway link which was severed by the opening of the freeway in '94 will be developed by staff per what Caltrans requested in order to move this project forward.
