Call to Order: Meeting called to order by the Vice Chair at 4:00pm 2. Roll Call: Present: Cosyn, Stallman, Swan, Waltonsmith; Staff: Harvancik Absent: Goldberg 3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: So done 4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: No changes 5. Approval of Minutes: January minutes approved 6. Oral and Written Communication: none 7. New Business • West Valley College Vasona Creek Trail: Staff met with College who requested support letters for grant applications. Committee voted to have staff send letters of support. • Joint Meeting with City Council: Meeting will be May 18th – 15 minute presentation to include Trail Map and Near Term (CIP) Opportunities • Future Trail CIP’s: Staff will consolidate candidates with the existing CIP roster for next update: Not in priority order: − Joe’s Trail at Juan Bautista de Anza – Phase II extending trail to Arroyo De Arguello – candidate − Wildwood Park Pedestrian Bridge – rehabilitation, not funded − Village Creek Trail – near term phase I planning and construction grants being applied for − Calabazas Creek Trail – upstream of picnic area at Sunnyvale Saratoga Road – longer term candidate − Odd Fellows Trail Development establishing link to San Marcos Open Space – candidate − Congress Springs Park North Side Access – candidate, needs dollar estimate − Saratoga Creek Trail – downstream of Village to Water District future Loop Trail at Walnut | Alta Vista – candidate − Via Regina Trail – easements secured, not funded − Village to Hakone Gardens path along Big Basin Way – similar to Saratoga Ave ped path projects using TDA money − Hakone to Sanborn Saratoga to the Sea – awaiting County transfer of land to city Hand off to Traffic Safety project roster: − Blue Hills School Safety Crossing (funded – need VTA push to reverse CPUC closure of prior link) − Redwood School Corner of Montauk and Fruitvale Pedestrian Safety Upgrade • SCVWD grant opportunity: City is applying for 2 grants covering planning and construction for picnic area and trail on city property with support letters from committee • Congress Springs Park north side access path: To be added as candidate project to CIP roster for consideration by City Council 8. Old Business • Saratoga Creek Trail update: Staff is meeting with Children’s Farm group on the 16th. No recent action on the trail proposal, itself • Circulation Element bicycle route re-evaluation: Letter to Council reviewed and edited • Garrod Annexation – trail easements: Site meeting to confirm easements set for the 22nd • Saratoga Avenue walking connections: Project taking place this summer – no change in status 9. Staff Report: • Mustard Faire is March 6th – see City Web Site for flyerWall collapse onto sidewalk on Saratoga Ave. at Juniper Ln. at has been cleared by property owner • Arbor Day is to be held April 22nd @ 3:30 at Foothill Park • Joe’s Trail had coverage in the Mercury News • Hwy 9/Austin Way intersection improvements and bicycle signal detector loops are part of the Hwy 9 Safety Project underway, also covered by the Mercury News 10. Reports: • Pending trails updates: Saratoga to the Sea connection from Saratoga to Sanborn Park update to be on next meeting agenda • Member reports: A Friends of Saratoga Trails group is in its formation stage 11. Action Items Summary: • Finalize response letter to Council regarding Circulation Element inquiry 12. Adjournment to Next Regularly Scheduled Meeting: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 4:00 pm
