Meeting Minutes

1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order by the Chair at 4:00pm
2. Roll Call: Present: Stallman, Waltonsmith, Cosyn; staff: Harvancik; absent: Swan
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: So done
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: Accepted
5. Approval of Minutes: Approved February meeting minutes
6. Oral and Written Communication: none
7. Old Business
• Future Trail CIP’s: City Council will hold a hearing at their meeting on May 16th for the five
candidate projects:
County Park (Quarry Property) Master Plan
Village to Hakone trail
Congress Springs north side access path
Saratoga Creek Trail downstream of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd.
Via Regina missing link
• Saratoga Avenue sidewalk: Latest segment in the ongoing project will be to extend the
sidewalk from the Fire Station to Park Avenue including a bus shelter
8. Staff Report
• Cox will get an uplit raised elevation crosswalk across from Gene’s Market
• Fruitvale median landscaping project will include crosswalk refreshes
• Arbor Day event will be at Wildwood Park April 20th
• Castle Rock State Park will remain open for a year beyond any impending State closure
thanks to a $250k donation from a private organization
• Parks and Recreation Commission plans to reopen the Fredericksburg path
9. New Business
• Review and approve bike rack policy as part of Let’s Move Initiative to encourage more
physical activity in Saratoga: Committee voted approval
• VTA BPAC appointment for upcoming term – candidates are being sought to fill this
opening which starts in June – meetings are held at VTA in San Jose – an announcement will
be put in the Saratoga News
10. Reports (information only, no actions to be taken)
• Pending trails updates – Peck Trail spur along Saratoga Creek is no longer being pursued by
the VIVA group – Water District grant is being re-allocated
• Member reports – Orchard Trail woodchips need to be graded – still in piles
