Reports ● Jim reported that roads and pathways fronting Saratoga, Marshall Lane, Blue Hills, St. Andrews, and Sacred Heart Schools and WVC were free of goathead weeds. Redwood, Christa McAuliffe, Argonaut, Joe’s Trail and the Heritage Orchard Trail had a handful each; Saratoga High is a mess and Foothill is free except for the upper ball field. These 2 schools will need on site grounds staff support to attack the problem - it was suggested to interest the Youth Commission in helping to see what can be done. Goathead puncturevine eradication has been conducted citywide - initially centered on doing schools and pathways to schools to preclude bicycle users from getting flat tires. The thumbtack seeds are also debilitating to pets - the seeds numbering in the 1000s per plant. Cyclists using Saratoga Streets have not had to contend with Goatheads for a couple of years now but inspections will continue through 2020 to ensure eradication. A suggestion was made to recognize PEBTAC member Jim Stallman and his son David Stallman for their long-term ongoing City-wide effort to eradicate the Goathead (puncture vine) weed. 11. Action Items Summary: Attend the City Council Meeting for the Anza Trail Certification June 21. 12. Meeting Adjournment was at 4:55pm.
