HomeMy WebLinkAbout9-14-2017 TSC Meeting Agenda CITY OF SARATOGA TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING AGENDA DATE: September 14, 2017 TIME: 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM LOCATION: Administrative Conference Room 13777 Fruitvale Avenue, Saratoga, CA 95070 Call to Order Roll Call: Chen, Choi, Cosyn, Coulter, Harris, Kane, McIntyre Staff: Mainini Cabute, John Cherbone, Franziska Church, Ashley Brooks Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the agenda for this meeting was properly posted on September 7, 2017. Accept Agenda Items: No additional items may be added pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2. Oral & Written Communication Any member of the public may address the Commission about any matter not on the agenda for this meeting for up to three minutes. Commissioners may not comment on the matter but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda. Approval of Draft Minutes May 11, 2017 Sheriff’s Report to the Commission Old Business None. New Business 1. Traffic Matrix #395- Braemar Drive Issue: Request by Kay Xiao to evaluate speeding on Braemar and possibly install a Stop sign or speed hump near the slope on the road. Action: TSC will review and discuss recommendation presented by the traffic engineer. 2. Traffic Matrix #396- Kevin Moran Park Traffic Issue: Request by Srikant Gokulnatha to install no parking signs, lighted crosswalks at intersections, and speed bumps near and around Kevin Moran Park to prevent speeding. Action: TSC will review and discuss data collected by the traffic engineer and make a recommendation. 3. Traffic Matrix #397- Left Turn from Paramount Issue: Request by Arun Venkatachar to install buffer lane on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road at the Paramount Drive intersection, reinstall No U-turn sign and trim bushes on westside of Saratoga-Sunnyvale, north of Paramount Drive. Action: TSC will review and discuss data collected by the traffic engineer and make a recommendation. 4. Traffic Matrix #398- Reid Lane Issue: Request by Henry Coles to have another survey completed on Reid Lane to allow Sheriff deputies to enforce speed limit using radar. Action: TSC will review and discuss data collected by the traffic engineer and make a recommendation. 5. Traffic Matrix #399- Bulb outs at Kreisler and Wardell Issue: Request by Tom Howell to modify painted bulbouts because they compromise bicyclists safety. Action: TSC will review and discuss data collected by the traffic engineer and make a recommendation. 6.
